I hired Levina as a coach when I was starting out in business. She helped me work through a tangle of ideas to create a clear and focused three-year, strategic roadmap. Levina has remarkable insight and a knack of identifying the core issue through a jumble of noisy thoughts. Her sincere and kind coaching style clearly comes from a place of genuine empathy. Levina gently but firmly encouraged me to question and, ultimately, move beyond my comfort zone. Finding the courage to do that was easier because knowing that Levina’s wealth of business experience meant she had ‘walked the walk’ and this leant her advice so much credibility for me. The outcomes involved practical actions, tailored to my goals and personality that were easy to apply because the foundation work Levina guided me through was so strong that application felt natural. Working with Levina left me inspired and energised and propelled me to take those steps with confidence. I can’t wait to work with her again.

As an art student in Levina's studio for a number of years, I rediscovered my love of art and learned to use new materials under Levina's guidance. In addition to teaching skills and techniques, Levina helped me to overcome a fear of mistakes or of failure in art making.  In the main, she achieved this by ensuring a positive and comfortable environment, teaching problem-solving skills, identifying the learning points in what might be otherwise seen as a mistake, and fostering decision making and innovation.

Levina's approach was to lead by example, to encourage self-expression, and to impart knowledge in a way which was best suited to each student - whether that be experiential, problem-based, enquiry-based, guided instruction or other method.  By taking the time to communicate with each student, Levina understood the approach which would best suit each individual's skill level and learning style.

The culture which was engendered within the class was supportive, positive, informative and was highly conducive to the development of creative thinking.

I have had the pleasure of completing an MA course in leadership in the workplace Health and wellbeing alongside Levina. Levina has a unique inside knowledge and is full of life experiences that benefited me and the entire class I would say. Her eagerness to learn and focus more on the process of things instead of getting bogged down by the results is admirable. Often times, it can be discouraging to not get the results expected after the amount of time and effort put into projects, but Levina always reminded us to put one foot in front of the other and to keep on persevering. Personally, as someone who had just moved to Ireland to play basketball and study, it was very hard to adjust to the education system, culture, and lifestyle but people like Levina made it easier as they checked in often and made sure I had a support network despite while being so far from home. Levina was the ultimate caregiver of the group due to her abundance of workplace, life experiences and how caring she is. Despite all that, Levina was always open to feedback and suggestions. She was a great team player and always went above and beyond what was expected. She always offered help to anyone that needed it and overall, she was a pleasure to have worked with. Anybody would be lucky to work alongside Levina!

Person with Crutches

I found myself in the position of being medical/personal advocate for a family member who had a serious acquired brain injury. While cognitively, he remained compos mentis, there were significant deficits regards emotional and implicit understanding.

I had previously studied ethics and so had an understanding of the principles involved. However, dealing with the person is significantly more complicated than tidy formulae in textbooks. This is where Levina, offering leadership through accompaniment, provided very solid support to me. Her experience in dealing with vulnerable adults, and the patience and persistence involved, taught me much. She had a wholistic grasp of the care involved, from the practical situation – from how to we physically get from A to B with a person whose anxiety manifested in daily tasks– to the more difficult issues of elective barriers, when they did not want to see or hear important information regarding their care.

Levina brought a professional attitude of detachment to bear, but always maintained a most humane and caring understanding of my family member's problems and difficulties, along with the challenges they represented to me. Her sense of humour always lightened what a times was a fraught situation. She never lost sight of the goal to be achieved at any given time, and always brought clarity to the situation. She broke each situation down to its component parts and methodically worked out paths to the goal required. She was never patronising and always treated me as an equal even though I was still learning about working with a vulnerable adult. She made it easy to learn – she acted always as if we were discovering together what needed to be done. True leadership by accompaniment.

I will never forget what I learned from Levina. I especially hold a phrase she used regularly in working with vulnerable adults: “No decision about me, without me.” To me this summed up her integrity as a leader.

Art Class

I hired Levina to facilitate me in the compilation of an art portfolio. Levina was highly knowledgeable in this area and was most enthusiastic in the development and reinforcement of my artistic skills and techniques. Levina's warm and friendly approach was delivered with a high degree of professionalism, with the result that I gained confidence and created an attractive portfolio that displayed the innovative use of a wide range of art media. I would strongly recommend any prospective employer to consider Levina's benevolent nature and efficient, effective work ethic.
